This Puppet Heap original short film is a Karagoz-inspired shadow show based on the poem Ye Ballade of Ivan Petrovsky Skevar by Percy French, circa 1870. Set around the time of the Crimean War, the Russian Ivan Petrofsky Skevar encounters one of the Sultan's mameluks, Abdullah Boul Boul Ameer, until they both die. A variety of shadow puppet styles were used, and the production was built and filmed at Puppet Heap. It was adapted, designed, and directed by Paul Andrejco with original music by Jeremiah Lockwood.
